Mortgage Loan Originator

Description of Responsibilities: Must effectively carry out the essential duties and responsibilities of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates Your Legacy’s mission and core values in a positive manner. Other duties may be assigned.

Develop & Maintain Quality Member Relationships

  • Provide loan (Mortgage, Home Equity Loans, Home Equity Lines of Credit, Consumer) services to members.
  • Approve or deny loans based on authority following guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Initiating loan application by accurately completing application, collecting fees, documenting loan package, and giving complete application package to processor.
  • Provide exceptional mortgage loan service to members, including information gathering, assessing member needs, application completion and processing, inform member of ongoing process and attends/assist in the coordination of the mortgage closing.
  • Ensure that all loan applications are accurate, complete and an appropriate fit for the member. Consistently document member interactions and exceptions in loan software.
  • Join local professional associations to further community involvement and establish working relationships with local realtors.

  • Education requirements:
    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • Bachelor degree in related field preferred.
    • 3-5 years of recent experience in mortgage lending at a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of credit, lending concepts and practices.
  • Must complete annual training and compliance in accordance with all Your Legacy Fair Lending Policies and Guidelines including, but not limited to, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Fair Housing Act, the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, and S.A.F.E. Act.
  • Must be or able to be NMLS certified.

Accounting Clerk

Description of Responsibilities: Keys daily worksheets to the general ledger system, ensures files are complete and maintained as needed, handles accounts payable duties, and assists accounting personnel. Perform tasks necessary to balance and update general ledger and subsidiary accounts, maintain and reconcile daily cash accounts and mange other accounting-related duties. Prepare various reports as required.

Essential Functions:

  • Research and resolve member and staff issues in a timely manner.
  • Post daily ACH files, daily Share Draft files, daily I-Pay files, and daily Share Payouts.
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounting general ledgers daily.
  • Daily ATM balancing and balances ATM suspense reports.
  • Balance Shared Branching (make adjustments, suspense activity, and return checks).
  • Manage various member service related transactions.
  • Review and enter employee expenses into the general ledger after receiving proper authorization.
  • Perform accounts payable function to include data entry of invoices, disbursing checks, and scanning paid invoices.
  • Process outgoing and incoming wires, verify those wires have all required documentation, and work with other staff to ensure incoming wires are posted and resolve any issues. Maintains the required wire logs.
  • Participate in month end close by preparing and posting closing journal entries.
  • Prepare Monthly Reports for the Board and others.
  • Identify and recommend ways to continuously streamline or improve the work process and/or the work environment.
  • Stay up to date in knowledge of other duties performed in accounting, as to be able to step in and assist as needed.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the VP-Accounting or other members of management.

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in accounting required, Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
  • Strong analytical, research, and communication skills (both oral and written), required
  • Detail oriented, ethics, technology, interpersonal skills, required

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Two or more years of experience in accounting or a related field.
